Taking the Sun: The Best Sunscreen

Taking the Sun The Best Sunscreen

Now that you start to make better time and feel like staying for a while under the warm rays of the sun, it is good to remember that it should be done in moderation and with sunscreen.

We do not always have to hide from the sun because it is necessary for our body to take the sun, but properly protected. If we expose ourselves to the sun without adequate protection we will be damaging our body in the short and long term. But it does not serve any sunscreen or any way to apply it. Here you will see how you should do it to really serve you.

Among the points in favor that this astro gives us is that of synthesizing Vitamin D or strengthening our immune system. Not to mention the benefits on our skin in cases of vitiligo or psoriasis. In addition, it acts positively on our mood giving us more vitality and energy and making us feel better, and this is due to its effect on the neurotransmitters of our body.

But everything is not always so beautiful and has its negative side as burns or erythema if we talk about short-term negative effects and even vomiting, nausea, fever, loss of consciousness … in more extreme cases of sun exposure. In such cases, the doctor should be referred promptly.

Another problem of sun exposure is that part of these negative effects short term also cause long – term effects causing degenerative changes of connective tissue of the dermis. It has been shown that 80% of the aging of humans is due to sun exposure and is one of the leading causes of cancer (skin cancer).

When looking for a sunscreen we have to keep in mind two types of protection, UVA and UVB.

Taking the Sun The Best SunscreenWhat do these types of ultraviolet rays have different and how do they affect us?

The UVA rays are more intense than UVB and affect the deeper layers of the skin. When we talk about UVB protection we refer to the protection of the suns against burns or reactions of the skin before sun exposure and UVB refers to the effect of rays on the deep layers of the skin that affect our aging and spots, to put it more generally.

Another important thing to know and rarely commented is that the protection that comes in the products that are sold is protection against UVB (burns and solar reactions) but not UVA. And how we know UVA protection, remembering that it is always 1/3 of what protects the UVB. That is, if we take a 50 protection cream we will be protecting 50 of the UVB and 16.666667 against the UVA.

What is there to make clear of what I have just said?

Those people who want to protect them from the sun because they have spots or not appear and to reduce the effect of aging caused by the sun should always opt for creams that put 100+.

Apart from sun protection, it is also necessary to remember that it is advisable to use other protection measures such as:

Do not expose yourself to the sun between 10am in the morning and 4pm in the afternoon.

Wear protection even when we are going to walk on cloudy days. Neither fog nor clouds protect us from the rays of the sun.

In addition, it must be remembered that the higher the altitude, the faster the skin is burned with the sun. And even more when the summer begins because that is when UV rays can cause the most damage to the skin.

Avoid surfaces that reflect light, such as water, sand, concrete, snow, and white painted areas.

Use pamela, caps, sunglasses, T-shirts and white clothing. Remember that glasses must protect both UVA and UVB.

Do not use sun lamps or tanning beds (tanning salons). Spending 15 to 20 minutes in a tanning salon is as dangerous as spending a day in the sun. In the video you can see that it is one of the first causes of cancer in both women and men.

It is important to remember that we wear sunscreen several times a day, usually every hour and a half or every two hours. And more in case we get into the water.

And it is recommended that we never use protectors below 30 FPS. It is not just about avoiding to burn but to protect our skin and our organism.

There are sunscreens on the market with antimosquitos together but it is better not to use this type of products because the protector should be applied several times a day and however the repellent should not be used many times. It is counterproductive.

In case there is sensitivity to the sunscreens you can use a mineral such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.

Use sunscreen whenever you go outside, not only when you want to go to the beach or sunbathe. If we walk on the street or sit down to have a drink on a terrace also we touch the sun and it affects just as if we were lying in the sun at the seashore. And you should always put 30 minutes before going outside to take effect. It is the time the skin needs to absorb the shield and thus protect it.

We must not forget the lips, we must also protect them. There are many lipsticks that have sun protection so we can moisturize, repair and protect our lips.

Today there are many products in the market that contain several phases and that are why they must be shaken before use, so that the phases are mixed and take effect. This is important to know for when you have to apply sunscreen. Always be sure to mix the product before its application for correct use and protection.
